Memory of Smile (Cover)

On March 21, 1993, the CD album "Lupin III Tokyo Transit - featuring" was released. This was an original CD album with a strong narrative, consisting of music and dialogues of the scene of Lupin III's transit in Tokyo after his departure from Paris. The main songs and dialogues are by Yasuo Yamada, the voice actor of Lupin III, with Harumi Ozora and Eri Ohno as female singers. The stories of the women who interacted with Lupin are connected through music and narration. Lupin walks around the city in transit. The names of places and scenes from the Kanto region appear in the story.

I am pleased to present you with a cover version of "Memory of Smile" from this album. The original song is about Lupin's transit in Tokyo, but I sang it as if I were Fujiko Mine.

This is the last CD album for Yasuo Yamada. It is now out of print and hard to find, but if you are a Lupin fan, you should listen to it at least once.

平成5(1993)年3月21日、CDアルバム｢ルパン三世・Tokyo Transit-featuring｣がリリースされました。 パリを出発したルパン三世が、トランジットした東京で過ごす情景を音楽と台詞で構成した物語性の強いオリジナルCDアルバムです。歌と台詞はルパン三世の声優 山田康雄氏を中心にして展開、大空はるみ氏と大野えり氏が女性歌手として担当。ルパンと交流があった女性達の物語を音楽と語りで繋いでいきます。トランジットで街を歩くルパン。 話中に神奈川県の地名や情景が登場します。

このアルバムから、今月は｢Memory of Smile｣を贈ります。原曲ではトランジット物語をしみじみと語るようにルパンが歌っていますが、今回のカバーバージョンでは峰不二子の気分になって歌ってみました。

山田康夫氏にとって最後のCDアルバム。現在は絶版になって手に入りにくいのですが、ルパンファンなら、一度は聞いてみてくださいね。
