This 6.5x52 stick features a dark chocolate mottled box pressed wrapper with small veins, tight invisible seams, an oily firmly packed wrapper with prominent tooth with a musty hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with good thick smoke output of a full bodied sweet, creamy earth and pepper blast with a finish adding a spice and big zing over the tongue. The first third comes down just a notch to medium-full body with the addition of a deep black coffee and bakers chocolate on the draw. The finish continues the big pepper blast, lasting to the next draw. The 1/2 way point comes in at 35 minutes dropping the ash in a large solid chunk. Body is back up to full with plumes of rich smoke. Draw flavors change slightly with the deep coffee dominating and pushing in to the long finish while the sweetness goes to a subtle but distinct cherry note. The pepper and spice finally start to mellow towards the end. Finishing at 1:05 the last third showed no further changes.
