Mission Battery Base for Amazon Echo Plus 2nd Generation: Make Your Echo Plus Portable

We have been owned just about every Amazon Echo device you can image at our house. We bought the original when it was released, the Echo Dot, the 2nd Gen device and now the 2nd gen Echo Plus. I've enjoyed watching as they have improved the platform over the years. It is now an integral part of our lives.

One thing that we haven't had with the devices is portability. While the Amazon Tap has a portable battery built in, the device isn't as nice as the Echo 2nd generation, and we'd prefer to be able to take that one with us out in the yard, in the garage or wherever.

A while back I discovered this Mission Battery Shell for the Amazon Echo 2nd generation, and it was a great accessory that made our Echo portable. We wanted the same thing with our Echo Plus - with smart home hub built in.

The folks at Mission Cable sent out a battery base for the Echo plus, and this video shows the unboxing and installation of that device.

We've been using it for a short time and thus far it seems to be well made, durable, has a great non-slip rubberized base on it (to avoid it falling off a table or wherever), and does exactly what it's advertised to do.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this device again, and would recommend it to anyone looking to make their Echo Plus 2nd gen a more portable platform.

The only real downside that I can find for the unit are that you can't turn off the bright blue LEDs on the front, which can be annoying.
