Ex-Police Officer Exposes the Reality of Being a Black Cop | Brandon Tatum | POLITICS | Rubin Report

Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to former police officer Brandon Tatum about what it’s really like to be a black police officer dealing with the black community, the impact that the defund the police movement has had on police morale, and exposing some of the popular myths surrounding cases like Michael Brown and the Breonna Taylor shooting. First, Brandon discusses the tension between black officers and the communities they are sworn to protect. He also explains how the Black Lives Matter movement has trained the black community to be unwilling to hear any other viewpoint. He shares his recent experience of speaking at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Revolt Summit where he was booed. Brandon and another police officer also had their panel discussion comments deleted from the final broadcast of Revolt Summit 2021. Next, Brandon talks about the decision making process that cops have to go through in a mere second or two while their actions are analyzed with a microscope by the media and lawyers after the fact. He wishes that these people were more knowledgeable on deadly force training and what it was like to make life or death decisions in real time. Brandon also discusses the real world impact of lessening police funding. Morale in police departments is at an all time low and many have pulled back on proactive policing which is one of the most effective ways of preventing crime. Additionally you are seeing more officers retire early and police unions struggle to bring in new officers. All of this is leading to a major crime spike in major cities across America. Finally, Brandon debunks some of the Kyle Rittenhouse lies that the media continues to repeat. He also explains why “hands up don't shoot” was never actually said during the Michael Brown shooting and why the investigation by the justice department proved most widely believed details of the case to be false. Brandon explains other myths that BLM has created to push the narrative of police brutality. He debunks some of the myths surrounding the Breonna Taylor investigation as well as the shootings of Jacob Blake and Ma'Khia Bryant. He also shares details of lesser known cases like Andrew Coffee IV that go against the Black Lives Matter narrative and go under reported.Show more
