22nd in our series the Book of 1 Peter

I. The Modus Operandi of Satan - John 10:10
A. When we see those who are doing these
things we know who their father is - John 8:44
B. Today Satan’s servants are sowing division, hatred and discord even in the church of our Lord
II. The People of God - 1 Peter 2:10.
A. Before we came to Christ we were not a people
1. The world today is all focused on race
2. But God sees mankind as one race, one blood, all descendants of Noah - Acts 17:26
3. There has been a false interpretation of the issue
a. A misreading of the curse of Ham - Genesis 9:22, 24-27
b. The curse was only on one son of Ham, not the others
4. Before Christ and outside of Christ none of the things people think are important matter at all
B. Now in Christ we are a real people /nation
1. As those in Christ we are the chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, God’s own peculiar people
a. What unites the true people of God is far greater than any differences that exist among us
b. Our oneness in Christ transcends every difference that might exist - Galatians 3:26-29
2. The people of Christians will rule and reign with Christ - Revelation 5:10
C. As a people we have obtained the most precious gift any people could obtain - the mercy of Almighty God
1. We must show mercy to those who are also called
2. As we see to reach the lost with that message of mercy
