One of the biggest holidays in Japan is the New Year's holiday. Starting with New Years Eve and ending January 4th. It's full of customs, family, food and fun. Starting out first close to midnight many visit a Buddhist temple to ring in the New Year. These wadaiko (Japanese drums) drummers playing outside of a Buddhist temple. Kikuchi is located near Kumamoto on the Kyushu island. Taken: December 31, 2008
