Pair of Loons swimming at White Deer Lake

A rare time to see a pair of Loons swimming out on the lake. There is a platform for their nest nearby that you can see towards the end of the short video. This is so that they can nest peacefully without animals or humans interfering with their nest. Loons have legs more toward the rear of their body which makes them excellent at swimmers and catching fast fish. But, on land it is very difficult for them to walk so they must have nests nearby water. Taken: May 15, 2009
