Relatively few were able to leave memories of their lives and stories of what came before them, and even fewer were able to leave their stories in writing, in their own words. But one man from a forgotten African land who was brought to the United States enslaved did what he could, writing a number of treatises in Arabic on theology and history - and most famously, an autobiography.Show more
