AI Plays Nintendo: Why Does Playfun Love Making Power-Ups Appear? (Super Mario Bros.) | #Shorts

Learnfun and Playfun find power-ups in Super Mario Bros. with surprising frequency. This has been true across multiple playthroughs with very different sets of training data. Sometimes, the program makes Mario collect the power-up, which gives it a points boost. However, Playfun will often make power-ups appear without collecting them. This is especially true when points are a low-priority objective. The question is, why? I have a theory, which I explain in this video. (Accompanied by AI-generated gameplay.)
