Denver Zoo Eats Like An Orangutan

Happy #WorldOrangutanDay! We’re celebrating this important awareness day by participating in the Orangutan SSP’s Eat Like an Orangutan Challenge. Sumatran orangutans are native to the forests of Southeast Asia and are critically endangered largely due to habitat loss. A major contributor are oil palm plantations which are harvested for palm oil—which we consume through products we use every day. One way you can help save this incredible species is by making a conscious decision to consume only sustainably sourced palm oil. Organizations like Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and Palm Done Right have many resources you can use to help make the switch today! Check out this video to learn more about orangutans, how you can become involved in their conservation efforts, and to see if members of Denver Zoo have what it takes to Eat Like an Orangutan. 🦧

Thanks for nominating us, ZooTampa at Lowry Park! Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, you’re up! Are you ready to #EatLikeAnOrangutan?
