Omicron 'might elude' some vaccine protection -Fauci

U.S. infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci said on Wednesday that the first U.S. case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been detected in California, adding that the molecular structure of the variant may be more transmissible and might evade some vaccine protection.
