Take me Down Town

Thinking about music venues that were once prolific in the down town area of NYC, they have now been replaced with Starbucks, The Gap, stuffy Cafe's that charge you $ 12.00 for a half sandwich and of course the Corporate Banks are everywhere.,Creativity has been sucked out of the community all the small shops have been pushed out and how unimaginative and boring has New York become. It was always difficult to make a living as an artist in N.Y but there was a time when even the average musician could still make a living and never have to leave the island of Manhattan. I believe the music industry is suffering because the musician no longer has the creative outlets to test their performance and skill. How can you develop if you can not get the feedback one needs to make corrections and improve .Our culture and American way of life is under constant attack if we continue to allow this to continue all will be lost .. Longing for the downtown music scene .
