Bishop Athanasius Schneider: So many saints prayed the Rosary during Holy Mass, because what is the Rosary? The Rosary is the contemplation of the life, the death, and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And all of this is happening in the mysteries and the sacrament during Holy Mass. Holy Mass contains, in some way, all the mysteries of the life of Jesus Christ, the Incarnation, the center is the Golgotha sacrifice and the delivering of Christ, his glorified body, in the Eucharist. So it is very appropriate, I think, to pray the Rosary during Holy Mass, but it depends on you and your personality. There are people who prefer to follow the missal with the priest, reading and contemplating the beautiful prayers of the Church. This is also a very good meaning and Pope Pius the X suggested that it mattered for people, not to pray in the Mass, but to pray with the Mass, with the prayers of the Church, or to listen and meditate. But as I repeat it depends on your personal spiritual disposition. We should leave this option free for the people. The Lord is so magnanimous and He will give so many graces to you according to your personal situation.
