Phillip Burton and Willie Brown had a little helper in Jim Jones. Before mass murdering his followers in Guyana, Jones was the darling of San Francisco progressive politics. Jones was so loved because he was so effective. He was able to steal the 1975 mayoral election for the progressive George Moscone.
