Why Leaves Get White Spots: Powdery Mildew

Plant leaves getting white spots? There's a good chance that's powdery mildew, a fungal disease of plant foliage and stems. It is particularly common is susceptible plants, such as cucumber, squash, melons, roses, grapes, phlox, monarda and some broadleaf trees (like the horse chestnut from the opening shot). In this video, I'll discuss the conditions that favor this infection of leaves, as well as ways to prevent it. If you want to treat without heavy chemical fungicide, I have a couple of recommendations at the end of the segment.
