Bible Q-n-A #257: The Dreaded "Pattern Theology"

Why do people try to explain away the fact that the New Testament is a very clear and easily followed pattern for what the New Testament church is supposed to be? Sadly, many people that claim to be "Christians" would rather do what they want than submit to God's will. Rather than being thankful for clear instructions to live a sanctified life before God, they label the very idea of such as "Pattern Theology." And that's a dreadfully hateful thing to them.
