Plate Frame Heat Exchanger operation in a chilled water system

A plate frame heat exchanger can help reduce energy usage and provide cooling when it is used as part of a chilled water system. The plate heat exchanger will have one side connected to the condenser side of the chilled water system and the other side connected to the chilled water side of the system.

The cooling tower will be used to drive the condenser water down as cold as possible and the pumps will push that water through one side of the heat exchanger while the chilled water is pushed through the other causing a transfer of heat and cooling of the water.
