Pushing from home

We have been cooped up at home for a month now, watching in astonishment as the world we thought so secure falls apart, social protection systems overflow, the economy trembles and a pandemic spreads, not only viral, but also of uncertainty and frustration. Frustration, because, unless you belong to one of those groups of essential professionals, those who are sustaining the basic services that allow us to continue functioning - albeit at a slow pace - I imagine that at some point you will have experienced a feeling of inability or uselessness: what can I, locked up here, do to contribute in any way to the common good?

From Ecologistas en Acción in Segovia, we have proposed to offer you some suggestions to contribute, from confinement, to maintain - or initiate you into - eco-social activism, with an eye to the day after, to that return to a daily life that is not the same as before, but that wisely gathers what has been learned in confinement and allows us to build a better tomorrow.

When we come out of this, counting on you will be even more important than before. With you, and with you, and with them... with those people who today applaud from their balconies, or sew masks, or record animated videos... For what? Well, to push in the right direction the reorganisation of the economy, consumption and ways of life, so that they fit within the limits that the planet can bear, respect the health of nature and people, and allow a more equitable distribution of prosperity and wellbeing.
