A large fluffy cat belonging to a pet owner in Melbourne might be the longest in the world, Australia's Network Seven reported.

Omar, a maine coon, weighs 14 kilograms (30.8 pounds) and was measured recently at about 120 centimeters (3.93 feet), according to Network Seven, who reported that the cat caught the eye of the Guinness World Records.

They called owner Stephanie Hirst and placed Omar in the running for the record of the longest cat in the world.

Hirst says the three-year-old cat spends most of his time catnapping, and trying to avoid the limelight.

"He won't be becoming a diva any time soon," she said.
