NO FISH EVER DIED OF OLD AGE

Fish are able to achieve nearly 0 metabolism. Their heart rate drops, they stop moving and remain essentially in a state of suspended animation. This can go on indefinitely. That will certainly increase the life span of the animal. I do not think it is realistic to apply a calendar to fish. Mammals yes. Our metabolism remains essentially the same for the duration of our lives. Fish can run out the clock. By remaining in stasis they extend their life beyond anything we understand to be a life span.
There is a story of an eel that lived in a well on a family farm for more than a century. I am certain that eel spent most of that century not moving.
