If your rose petals are blemished with little pink "water dots", it's likely that botrytis cinerea (fungus) is the culprit. Don't panic - although it's a widespread rot organism, it usually doesn't do much more than cause some unsightly marks or balling of rose flowers. This is far more common in cooler, wet weather or where overhead irrigation is in use.
