Ep. 02, Part 1 - Transgender Children & Medical Transition [The Diagnostic Requirements]

"Children are being allegedly given hormones and medications to let them change genders?"

"I heard they can just choose their gender and start hormones!"

"Even young children are getting surgery!"

Are these claims true or false? Do the medical standards allow this to occur?

This episode is focused on addressing some misinformation about transgender treatment for children and adolescents. We will review the current Standards of Care for transgender treatment, review the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Gender Dysphoria, and take a peek at Arkansas HB1570, which passed on April 6th, 2021 with a veto override, prohibiting transgender transition care for children/adolescents in the state.
