La Fontaine Park is the oldest park in the city of Montreal, located in the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. While initially named Barraute Square for Norman Barraute, after his death in 1842 the park was named La Fontaine Park, in honor of its fountain.
The fountain, which lights up at night, was built in 1878 following the model of the one on Burlington Gardens in London. It was made of stone blocks from Saint-Raymond.
