BEING a kitten 24/7 has been the norm for a 23-year-old since she realised she was a feline at 15. Abigail, of North Carolina, wears cat ears as much as possible, spends a lot of time in her cat bed, and enjoys getting head pats from her 28-year-old partner Adam. The couple have been together for a year and a half and Abigail says it’s the first time in her life she has felt fully comfortable with her partner. She said: “I’m pretty much a kitten 24/7 because I float in and out of it so effortlessly. I wear my ears to work and I never take them off – I try not to let people see me without them. I like having Adam as a caregiver because he’s the first presence I’ve dated that I don’t feel judgement from.” Unlike other pet players who have to go into "pet space" to inhabit their chosen animal, Abigail says she naturally acts like a kitten when she’s comfortable with her partners. The vet assistant refers to Adam as a “caregiver, which she says is usually a term seen in the age play and slave dynamic, but she prefers it over the term “master". As well as being into pet play, Abigail is asexual which initially gave Adam some pause before he decided getting to know her was more important than sex. Unfortunately, Abigail has received numerous online comments and messages disparaging her kitten play and challenging her asexuality. But she hasn’t let that hold her back from being her authentic self. She said: “Being a kitten, now that I have someone who encourages and supports it, makes me feel safe and warm.”
