The recommended time for practicing meditation is at least 20 minutes, twice a day. It is best not to meditate when you are tired or exhausted.
A simple meditative exercise
Meditation can be practiced sitting with your feet on the floor, in the lotus if it is comfortable, lying on your back but there is a risk of falling asleep..etc) however in time you will naturally feel the right position and everything you need.
