-Change in spike proteins for 2nd wave, likely resulted in higher affinity to the gut, leading to gastrointestinal symptoms, and heightened allergic reaction
-South African variant triggered a more severe allergic reaction, resulting in higher morbidity and mortality
-Primary pathogen of Covid is the spike protein
-No Long Covid observed in 1st wave (see Part 6)
