Covid Policies made Care Home Residents afraid of their family and die from a broken heart

Recommendations from Leaders weren't making a lot of sense and left people more confused, anxious and full of fear.

The fear grew. My residents became socially isolated and withdrawn.
Residents became afraid of their family.

She believes care home residents died of a broken heart.

Protocols kept changing, you couldn't get your footing. Protocols contradicted each other.

Staff overworked. We were still not prepared in November 2020 - we had almost a year to prepare but we did not have a plan or enough supplies.

110 residents. 99 became infected. 70 staff infected. 41 residents died - most of them alone. Officially they died of COVID, but how many were causalities of isolation and social withdrawal?

We didn't even have enough staff to meet licensing requirements.

The isolation was by far the worst aspect of our illness.

Residents dying alone, scared.

After she got sick, she went back to work and questioned everything and was yelled at "Just Follow the Rules!" Don't think.

A switch was flipped - friends not speaking with friends, family not speaking to family - our politicians have driven us further and further apart.

"Antivaxxer, selfish, ignorant, you don't deserve to work in healthcare because you don't believe in the science, you and your children don't deserve to participate in society and you should do everyone a favour and just kill yourself"
