The first step in tinting your windows is to clean the windows and the areas around them very well. The cleaner the glass the better the overall project will be. Scrape the glass with a razor blade and clean the glass with soapy water. Don't use any kind of ammonia glass cleaner because it will dissolve the glue on the window tint.

Trim the window tint from the outside of the glass to get a rough size and do your final trimming on the inside of the glass. Clean the glass again and spray it down with your soap solution. Remove the adhesive backing from the window tint and spray it with the soap solution as well.
