In this video, we went over the key point of the what is termed a "neutral spine philosophy", in which we spoke about the three points of contact that come with this idea. In order to assess if we are lifting with a neutral spine, it first important to understand what it means. To assess if we are lifting w/ a neutral spine, we place the dowel rod down our spine, and maintain three points of contact (Behind the head, Middle of spine, Sacrum). When bending, squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling etc, it is important that we maintain a neutral spine, is this will allow for utmost efficiency while maintaining good lifting mechanics while reducing risk of injury from lifting with bad posture/ rounded back.
