Boo!

Stockbridge is a village in Calumet County Wisconsin.

My grandfather on my mom's side was born in the area and his father, my great-grandfather moved there after originally migrating to Ohio fleeing Ireland during the great potato famine back in the 1800s.

My dad renovated a small two-story home next to the Catholic Church elementary school back in the early '60s.

As the story goes it was a convent for the church.

The house had some history which I'll speak to in various future formats.

The one that I'm thinking about the most at the moment is the night I was visited by the houses ghost.

My second floor room had a access to the attic which I had never been to.

I was very concerned about Santa getting into the house through the newly remodeled chimney in the dining room.

On or about Saint Nick's day I awoke and peering across the room I noticed a black figure standing at the foot of my bed under the open attic door.

Scared beyond belief I pulled the covers over my head.

Sometime had passed and all I wanted to do was peak out to see if it was still there.

As a drew back the covers from over my eyes, and I was shocked to see it standing right next to me alongside the bed.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Without a whimper I pulled the sheet back over my eyes only to awaken in the morning sleepy-eyed but bushy-tailed.

I ran downstairs only to see that Saint Nick had visited at some time during the night. #dbrn
