In this video you will learn how to use double object pronouns in Spanish; Indirect and Direct Object Pronouns in Spanish.

The indirect object pronouns (I.O.P) refer to people only, and they are: (me, te, le, nos, les)
The direct object pronouns (D.O.P.) are: (me, te, lo, la, nos, los, las)
I.O.P D.O.P
me (person) me (person)
te (person) te (person)
le (person) lo, la (person, thing)
nos (people) nos (people)
les (people) los, las (people, things)

When we use them together, we will use ALL of the indirect object pronouns (me, te, le, nos, les) as they refer to people. And from the direct object pronouns we will use ONLY (lo, la, los, las) as these ones refer to thing/s.

The indirect object pronoun will come before the direct object pronoun.

Yo ___ doy un abrigo a John.
¿A quié le doy un abrigo? (To whom do I give a coat to?)
a John= le (I.O.P)
Yo le doy un abrigo a John.
¿Qué le doy a John? (What do I give to John?)
un abrigo= lo (D.O.P)
Yo se lo doy (a John).
You can either leave "a John" in your answer or remove it.
Keep in mind that all of the nouns must be eliminated once they have been replaced by the Direct Object Pronoun.

In Spanish anytime you have (le, les) before (lo, la, los, las); the (le, les) becomes se (lo, la, los, las)
We do that to avoid repetition. So we don't say "le lo" but rather "se lo"

Tú___das unas fresas a mí.
(To whom do you give strawberries?)
a mí= me (I.O.P)
Tú me das unas fresas a mí.
(What are you giving me?)
unas fresas= las (D.O.P)
Tú me las das (a mí.)
You can either leave "a mí" in the answer or you can remove it.

Nosotros _______damos unos chocolates a ellos.
(To whom do we give chocolates to?)
a ellos= les (I.O.P)
Nosotros les damos unos chocolates a ellos.
(What do we give them?)
unos chocolates= los (D.O.P)
Nosotros se los damos (a ellos).
You can either keep (a ellos) in your answer or not.
Remember that since "les" is before "los" in our answer when we put them together we say "se los" and not "les los"

Ellos no _____dan las revistas a nosotros.
(To whom are they not giving the magazines to?)
a nosotros= nos (I.O.P)
Ellos no nos dan las revistas a nosotros.
(What are they not giving us?)
las revistas= las (D.O.P)
Ellos no nos las dan (a nosotros).

Usted no ____da un libro a ella.
(To whom are you not giving a book to?)
a ella=le (I.O.P)
Usted no le da un libro a ella.
(What you are not giving her?)
un libro=lo (D.O.P)
Usted no se lo da (a ella).
Remember that since "le" is before "lo" in our answer when we put them together we say "se lo" and not "le lo"
