The Fergus Falls School Board communicated to parents on Oct. 4th that the mask mandate will be in effect through the MEA break (October 25) and it would reassess at that point, and also recently listened to public input on October 11th at a special meeting (which was the most attended meeting in the last 19 years according to a board member).

This morning, the Fergus Falls School Board gathered and decided to not continue the mask mandate after the MEA break (October 25). The School Board also decided that at the next meeting on October 25th at 5:15 PM, the meeting will include a discussion on mitigation strategies going forward.

The School District has encouraged families to continue to review the health of their children and those who are sick (fever, cough, etc.) to please stay home until feeling better, and also encouraged everyone to continue to use proper handwashing and social distancing and masks when applicable.

Community members were also encouraged to stay involved in the School Board meetings and those interested in serving on the District Curriculum Review Advisory Committee (DCRAC) can apply by calling the curriculum office at 998-0544 ext. 9002 to fill out an application.
