GOP Mayor wins in 40 point swing?! Democrats start voting Red as they awaken to self-preservation

There was a 40 point swing in an election for Mayor in Columbia, South Carolina in a city that has been reliably blue for 30 years. The Democratic Party has gotten so bad that even leftist are beginning to vote for Republicans as they realize this isn't just about policy disagreements this is about self-preservation.
Republican Daniel Rickenmann, a businessman and Columbia city council member, defeated Democrat Tameika Isaac Devine 52% to 48% on Tuesday night in Columbia, which sits in a county that President Biden carried by almost 40 points in 2020.
Not only that Democrats are now either beginning to retire or even switch parties, could this be the end of the liberal globalist establishment?
