Mount St. Helens
Mt. St. Helens
Mount St. Helens eruptions from 1980-1982 were very small when compared to those which made the Yellowstone area; however, this eruption happened when it could be documented and studied. It produced a small, new landscape on earth.
When people see sedimentary layers they often think it takes long ages for this to happen. Think again! From 40 years of study of the Mount St. Helens eruption event and surrounding area, geologists, biologists, and many other professionals have new understandings of volcanoes, water action, sedimentary layering, regrowth, repopulation of a new landscape, and much more. We will look at some of this and how it gives us new insight into the one time catastrophic world wide flood.
