A few years ago, the Vatican got involved in a sketchy €350 million real estate transaction in the UK.
Last summer, a judge indicted 10 people including Cardinal Angelo Becciu on charges ranging from embezzlement and abuse of office, to extortion and fraud in connection with the real estate investment.
It sounds as if Becciu is accusing Pope Francis of being aware of, if not involved in, the deal.
