Daniel Andrews Fined By Police - Not Violently Arrested - For Breaking Own Mask Laws

Victoria Police has fined Premier Daniel Andrews for breaching public health orders on two separate occasions over being snapped without a face mask outdoors during the week.

"Victoria Police can confirm it has issued two infringement notices to Premier Daniel Andrews for breaching Chief Health Officer directions," a police statement read.

"Premier Andrews received two fines today for not wearing a mask, each to the value of $200."

It came as the state reported a record 1,838 locally acquired cases on Friday with Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton saying the state is close to reaching its peak of COVID-19 infections.
