Fishermen rescue 600kg turtle after it became entangled in netting

Watch the moment an enormous 1,300lb leatherback turtle which surfaced tangled in nets was rescued by fishermen.

The enormous turtle was spotted entangled off Chennai, in Tamil Nadu, southern India, and rescuers spent two hours cutting it free on November 12.

The giant creature can be seen thrashing in fear with netting and fishing debris are wrapped around its neck and body.

After the turtle swam off, the heroic fishermen kept the rope to prevent any other animals from getting caught.
