1) Novel coronavirus, in its most severe form, is more like pneumonia than the flu.
FDA: "An outbreak of pneumonia of unknown etiology in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China was initially reported to WHO on December 31, 2019. Chinese authorities identified a novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which has resulted in thousands of confirmed human infections in multiple provinces throughout China and exported cases in several Southeast Asian countries and more recently the United States. Cases of severe illness and some deaths have been reported. "
2) Did we buy time with travel restrictions?
3) What happened with the botched testing kits?
4) Whose fault is it? All of us -- our culture, our corporate myopia, the fragmentation of our goals and leadership, corruption, globalism.

A North Carolina company supplied the blood test kits to China. (Qiagen, the Europe-based leader in traditional testing that also apparently supplies the United States, has also been supplying China, and they're working their factories round the clock due to a shortage of a pretty standard reagent for polymerase chain reaction (PRC) testing.) They’re less reliable than the polymerase chain reaction tests, but much easier and safer to administer. But even though the manufacturer recommends confirming the test with a very reliable polymer chain reaction test.
