This incredible song has been largely misinnerstood over the years, as few have figured out HOW the song was written...the Verses are from Us to God, and the Chorus is God's response to us...

We all want God to Think of Us, but how many of us are prepared to do any work, put in any time to nurture this relationship with God? Why must the many perceive that their relationship with God be a ONE-SIDED affair? With God doing all of the work, and then if they don't "get" what they specifically want, it is always God's fault...

Ask NOT what God can do for you, rather, ask God what YOU can do for Him...be all in with God thru Service to nurture His breathtaking Creation of this Earth...become the Shepherd, helping to guide his flock to the mountain top, instead of into Cess Pools of "Success"...

And as Todd Rundgren shows during the song, God is always saying to us,

"It's important to Me, that You Know you are Free, cause I never want to make you change for Me..."

This is Free Will...and while God wants for us to choose to run to Him within all aspects of our Lives, He is NOT prepared to force us to do anything, as for us to EARN anything in our lives, we have to work HARD at it...and in this way, we will never forget the Gift we have given ourselves...

In other words, if you ask God for Joy and Happiness in your Life, do you actually believe that God just waves a magic wand and gives you these things??? It will never occur this way, as you will have earned neither the Joy nor the Happiness, and will soon forget how precious they are, and forget them by the side of the road...Rather, in granting all prayers, God gives you the OPPORTUNITY to Create Joy and Happiness in Your own Life, that will then spill over to all other things...and you will not lose this Joy, as YOU DID THE WORK to create it, and thus, you will learn to preserve it in your life, as it was hard-earned...
