Sawmill Saves Termite Hickory

We found a large bitternut hickory that was damaged above its root flare. This allowed termites to invade. We harvested the log, made some lumber on our antique sawmill, and cut the remaining flitches on the buzzsaw. The other logs we split using a bushog wood splitter on the old tractor. Camera girl finds a coral snake in the woods, some buckeyes and morning glories.

Used tractor grapple, chainsaw, Foley Belsaw M-14 circle sawmill. Triple T Ranch & Sawmill on Choctaw Ridge is homesteading with a sawmill & anvil.
