Hewett's Shelter on the Bibbulmun Track

Hewett's Hill Campsite was named after Peter Hewett, a former Superintendent of the Forests Department in the 1970's who was instrumental in giving the idea of the Bibbulmun Track the green light.

The campsite is also the first campsite from the Northern Terminus.

The backpack I'm using is the The SUMMIT Backpack by Helikon Tex which is the answer for all modern hiking needs. This rucksack is lightweight and made of durable fabrics with comfortable, packable construction. The pack has 2 elastic mesh pockets on sides for water bottle or a small jacket, while elastic mesh beaver tail, placed on the front, can be used to carry helmet or even a larger winter jacket. The pack has been stripped of all unnecessary additions that would have negative influence on the weight. The large, spacious main compartment has 2 access points - one via the rolltop collar and the second via the front vertical zipper. Comfortable, profiled hip belt has 2 zippered, mesh pockets. With a 10mm wide MOLLE Lite webbing on each side you are able to attach some larger MOLLE/PALS compatible pouches.
