Mining Activities on the Front - WWI

From the public domain files of the US National Archives, here is a silent film by the US Army Signal Corps (No. 1114) taken from official pictures of the British Army in France, by permission of the War Office. It shows tunneling and explosives usage on the British Front in World War I....engineers, sappers and the like. Scenes from the trenches as well as the rear areas. This is about as real as it gets.
