My Father Le Bijou Limited Edition 2016 Cigar Review

This 6.5x52 stick features a dark chocolate oily, toothy firmly and densely packed wrapper with small veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and a pungent, rich sweet cocoa and hay aroma. First light reveals a loose draw with minimal amounts of smooth mild-medium smoke showing flavors of a musty sweet light earth with a good spice kick on the short finish. The first third draws well with a slightly wonky burn, giving now a medium body with complex flavors of a smooth slightly sweet earth, espresso, leather and the bit of spice kick on the now long finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 45 minutes, strength is starting to come in slightly with the body eeking to a medium-full. Flavors continue to change going to a very deep heavy earth and coffee on the draw while the finish drops the pepper and spice just leaving the earth to the next draw. Construction is very good dropping inch long ash chunks. Ending at 1:25 the last third did not want to burn well, needing relights and going very warm with the earth taking over completely when it didn't taste like an old relit stick. By the nub strength climbed to near full with a better burn.
