Driver Fails to Yield, Gets Broadsided, SPRING CREEK, November 14, 2021 - At approximately 1:20 pm on November 14, 2021, a gray 2009 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Christopher Mudd, 56, of Corrigan, was west-bound on US-190 West. As Mudd was about to pass Walding Road, a white 2017 Honda Accord, driven by Tiwaine Marks, 31, of Livingston, pulled off of Walding Road directly in front of Mudd. Mudd's pickup T-boned Marks' vehicle as both came to rest in the middle of the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Marks was pinned in his vehicle. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to gain access through the passenger's side door and were able to safely remove Marks from his vehicle. Marks was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Mudd was physically okay. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Marks is facing a citation for failure to yield at a stop intersection. Marks' vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing while Mudd's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker. Both vehicles will be stored in Livingston.
