Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Dustin Montgomery with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol. Phillips was able to communicate to first responders that he had crashed his truck. He also admitted to having been drinking beer prior to the accident and appeared to be intoxicated. Trooper Lowrie and Deputy Montgomery began searching for the pickup and initially weren't able to locate it. Due to Phillips' condition, he wasn't able to communicate where the pickup was. Phillips was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where a medical helicopter landed and flew hin to Conroe Regional Hospital. Shortly after 9 pm, Trooper Lowrie was able to locate Phillips' pickup. The vehicle was approximately 25 yards into the woodline and had struck at least two trees. All Star Wrecker was summoned to recover the vehicle and was assisted by Ken's Towing. Pending toxicology reports, Phillips could be facing the charge of driving while intoxicated.
