White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters during a press conference that President Joe Biden was confident nominee for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner, Robert Califf, would be confirmed. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Friday that he opposes Califf, arguing he is not strong enough in fighting the opioid epidemic given his ties to the pharmaceutical industry.
