This year marks the 20th year since China was accepted into the World Trade Organization. With the acceptance, comes a set of commitments China promised they would fulfill. These free trade requirements are a clear contrast to China’s economic model- socialist state planned economy. Today, the leader of China claims the state has met all commitments in trade. The Chinese state media all unilaterally promote the words of Xi Jinping. But outside China, it’s a different story.
