Stray dogs 'rescue' newborn girl dumped in sewage drain

Life is often stranger than fiction as they say. In Haryana’s Kaithal town stray dogs “rescued” a newborn girl from a sewage drain, where she was dumped barely hours after her birth. The wailing infant, who was wrapped in polythene was miraculously saved by the dogs that pulled her out from the drain in Dogri gate area and started barking. The baby was taken to Kaithal civil hospital where doctors said she had sustained head injuries. The entire episode was captured by CCTV cameras installed nearby. The CCTV recorded a woman throwing the newborn wrapped in polythene into the drain and fleeing from the spot. Police have registered a case against an unidentified woman for the crime.
