This is my introduction animated video of the Royal Navy Attack On Italian Fleet Battle of Taranto 1940 - Prelude To Attack On Pearl Harbor 1941.   The Japanese military planners studied the 1940 British air attack on the Italian fleet at Taranto intensively.  In the Royal Navy attack on the night of 11–12 November 1940, 1 British carrier launched 21 bi-planes (Swordfish) to attack the Italian fleet at anchor in Taranto, Italy.  Only 1/2 of the 21 aircraft were armed with "Torpedoes".  The other half were armed with bombs and flares to create a diversion from the main attack on the battleships and heavy cruisers at anchor.

This December 7th, 2021 marks the 80th Anniversary of the surprise sneak attack on Pearl Harbor 1941.   On November 26th 2021 I will begin to upload my new series of map and animated videos.  Starting with the Pearl Harbor attack.   I will be doing many additional military videos in time.   I will do both "Historical & Hypothetical" videos.

"Hypothetical" videos such as:  Battle of Pearl Harbor 3rd Wave & Battle of Midway Dec. 23rd - 26th 1941.
Historical videos on sea battles that I would upload in Dec. 2021 will be the

Japanese Attack - Sinking battleship HMS Prince of Wales & the battlecruiser HMS Repulse  Dec. 10th, 2021
Pursuit of the German Pocket Battleship Graf Spee - Battle of the River Plate    Dec. 13th to Dec. 17th
Along with a number of other military videos.

The attack by the Royal Navy was a masterpiece in military planning.   With a small fleet of 1 carrier the brand-new carrier HMS Illustrious, 2 heavy cruisers HMS Berwick and York, the light cruisers HMS Gloucester and Glasgow, and the destroyers HMS Hyperion, Ilex, Hasty and Havelock the Royal Navy achieved a major victory.

With just 9 warships & 21 bi-planes they sunk or damaged 3 battleships, disabled 1 heavy cruiser damaged, 2 destroyers damaged & 2 Italian planes destroyed.   The Italians suffered 59 killed & 600 wounded.  The Royal Navy casualties and losses were 2 killed, 2 captured & 2 aircraft lost.  In this animated map video I go  into detail how the Royal Navy achieved this victory, but more important how the Imperial Japanese Navy used the lessons from this attack to plan their Attack on Pearl Harbor 1941.

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, then commanding Japan's Combined Fleet planned the attack on Pearl Harbor with the from Captain Minoru Genda and Yamamoto's Deputy Chief of Staff, Captain Kameto Kuroshima.  The attack commenced at 7:48 a.m. Hawaiian Time. Imperial Japanese aircraft (including fighters, level and dive bombers, and torpedo bombers) in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers.

On November 26th 1941 a Japanese task force (the Striking Force) of six aircraft carriers Akagi, Kaga, Sōryū, Hiryū, Shōkaku, and Zuikaku departed Hittokapu Bay on Kasatka (now Iterup) Island in the Kuril Islands, en route to a position northwest of Hawaii, intending to launch its 408 aircraft to attack Pearl Harbor: 360 for the two attack waves and 48 on defensive combat air patrol (CAP), including nine fighters from the first wave.

I am still working on the full feature Animated Map View Attack on Pearl Harbor 1941 /Japan's Blunders & Disaster video.  The first part will be uploaded on Friday November 26th, 2021.   That is the 80th Anniversary of the day the Japanese fleet left Japan to attack Pearl Harbor and I will finish the uploads on the Historical Pearl Harbor animated attack videos by December 7th, 2021 to honor the 80th Anniversary of this attack.

***Note*** All "background music" used in my videos have been created by myself using my wife's Yamama Clavinova.  This way if anyone makes a copy right claim, it is pure BS.  This is my first time using ANY musical Instrument in my life & anyone claiming it as their own would have to be the most desperate person on the planet.
