What God expected in the past he will expect in the future. It doesn’t matter to God what we believe to be sin. What he considers to be sin is what matters. And we will be judged by God appropriately if our sins are not forgiven through Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross. Once we accept for ourselves Christ’s sacrifice, we must distance ourselves from our old sinful friends and activities. Otherwise we will likely be tempted back into our old lifestyles and drift away from our relationship with Christ.
